Rooftop Concrete Grinding & Floor Preparation in Campbelltown
Campbelltown rooftop flooring removal and concrete preparation, with crane access for a propane grinder and handover to the next flooring contractor.

Project Overview
Resin Me Epoxy completed existing flooring removal and concrete floor preparation on a rooftop project in Campbelltown, NSW. The rooftop required repair work, with our role focused on removing the existing flooring and preparing the underlying surface for the following contractor’s specified flooring system.
Access was a defining part of the job. Our propane-powered concrete grinder was lifted onto the roof by crane, allowing us to undertake mechanical preparation at the working level. The project combined rooftop equipment access, flooring demolition and preparation-only concrete grinding within one planned scope.
Project Scope
- Location: Campbelltown, NSW.
- Work area: a rooftop requiring repair work.
- Equipment access: crane lift of a propane-powered concrete grinder.
- Removal: demolition and removal of the existing flooring.
- Preparation: mechanical concrete grinding and surface preparation.
- Handover: a prepared floor for the next contractor’s flooring installation.
Our completed package covered flooring removal and preparation. Structural repairs, waterproofing and installation of the replacement flooring are not included in the scope described in this case study.
Crane Access for Rooftop Grinding Equipment
Before rooftop floor preparation can begin, the equipment needs to reach the work area. On this Campbelltown project, that required a crane lift. The main photograph shows the grinder suspended above the building as it is brought up to rooftop level, while another photograph records the crane operation from above.
Getting the grinder onto the rooftop was an essential step in delivering the preparation work. The access arrangement brought the machine to the surface that needed treatment, rather than limiting the project to equipment available at ground level.
Rooftop projects need an access approach suited to the particular building. This project demonstrates one crane-assisted arrangement; the equipment route and working conditions for another site would need to be assessed separately.
Removing the Existing Flooring
The existing flooring had to be removed as part of the rooftop repair project. Resin Me Epoxy undertook that removal scope before preparing the underlying floor for the next stage. This separated the removal and grinding package from the installation work to follow.
The purpose was practical: clear the existing flooring from the work area and prepare the surface beneath it. The rooftop photograph shows the grinder positioned within the work area during this stage. It records work in progress, rather than the appearance of the replacement flooring or a final handover inspection.
Concrete Grinding and Surface Preparation
With the propane grinder at rooftop level, we carried out the concrete preparation portion of the job. Our work was directed towards the surface the following contractor would receive, with the floor prepared for their specified installation.
Mechanical preparation is an important part of many refurbishment projects because a new flooring system depends on the condition of the surface beneath it. The preparation method and handover requirements should be matched to the proposed system. A surface prepared for one finish does not automatically meet every other product’s requirements.
For this project, the confirmed outcome was a prepared floor ready for the next contractor’s flooring works. No decorative finish was installed as part of the preparation scope described here. The subsequent contractor’s product selection and installation remain separate from our completed removal and grinding work.
Planning the Work Through to Handover
The job was planned around a clear sequence: get the grinder onto the rooftop, remove the existing flooring, complete the preparation work and hand the area over for the following trade. Equipment access was therefore part of delivering the floor-preparation package, rather than a separate detail at the end of the programme.
According to owner-operator Filip Plesko, the work progressed smoothly and met the client’s expectations. The completed preparation left the next contractor able to proceed with their flooring scope. This outcome reflects the agreed removal and preparation work; it does not describe or assess the flooring installed afterwards.
Preparation-Only Support for Commercial Projects
Resin Me Epoxy provides commercial concrete grinding in Sydney and concrete floor preparation for builders, flooring contractors and project teams. A preparation-only package allows the flooring installer or remedial contractor to retain responsibility for the specified system while engaging us for the agreed removal and grinding work.
This Campbelltown project is an example of that approach where rooftop access formed part of the job. We also assess rooftop concrete grinding and preparation enquiries across South West Sydney and Greater Sydney. The scope for each site is established from its existing surface, access arrangements and required handover condition.
Need Concrete Grinding or Floor Preparation for a Rooftop Project?
Send us the project location, approximate floor area, plans and clear photographs of the existing flooring. Include the proposed new finish, any preparation requirements from the following contractor, available equipment access and the intended programme.
For elevated work, photographs showing the building and the route to the work area help us understand the access question before confirming a scope. We can then identify what further information or site assessment is needed for project-specific pricing.
