Tooling and equipment are then selected for the actual surface and project requirements.

Depending on the slab and written quotation, the work may include concrete grinding, coating removal, glue and adhesive removal, paint removal, weak-laitance removal, localised high-spot reduction, edge preparation and industrial vacuuming. Cracks, damaged concrete, moisture concerns and substantial levelling requirements are identified separately because they may require additional repair, testing or specialist treatment.

Mechanical preparation creates a clean and appropriately profiled surface for the next trade or coating system. It does not automatically make an uneven slab level, and it can expose older repairs, cracks, aggregate variation or contamination that was hidden by the previous floor finish. Our Floor Preparation Process

01 — Site and Substrate Review

We assess the accessible concrete, existing floor finish, contamination, edges, services, access restrictions and the flooring system planned for the area.

02 — Confirm the Required Surface

The preparation method is matched to the written specification or the requirements supplied by the builder, flooring contractor or coating manufacturer. Where the final system is not yet selected, we confirm what information is needed before work begins.

03 — Mechanical Removal and Grinding

Commercial grinding equipment, appropriate diamond or removal tooling and connected dust extraction are used to remove the agreed surface material and prepare the slab in controlled passes.

04 — Edges and Detail Areas

Accessible perimeters, columns, doorways and areas outside the reach of the main grinder are treated with suitable smaller equipment where they form part of the quotation.

05 — Cleaning and Handover

The prepared area is industrially vacuumed and reviewed against the agreed scope. Any newly exposed defects or additional work are documented for the responsible project contact.
