Project Overview

Resin Me Epoxy completed concrete sealer removal and mechanical surface preparation across 1,350 m² at a tennis-court project in Parramatta. The builder needed an existing non-penetrating sealer removed before progressing to the next stage of the court extension. We mobilised two grinding machines and completed our preparation scope in 12 hours of working time.

Project facts

  • Location: Parramatta, NSW
  • Preparation area: 1,350 m²
  • Removal scope: Existing concrete sealer
  • Preparation: Mechanical surface preparation
  • Mobilisation: Two grinding machines
  • Working time: 12 working hours for the preparation scope

The builder’s surface-preparation problem

A non-penetrating sealer had been applied to the concrete slab. The builder contacted Resin Me Epoxy because it needed to be removed before the tennis-court extension could progress to its next surfacing stage.

An existing sealer can interfere with the adhesion of subsequent bonded surfacing products, depending on the products involved. The preparation requirements therefore need to be matched to the nominated surfacing system. This project called for sealer removal and mechanical concrete preparation.

Two-machine mobilisation and mechanical sealer removal

We brought two grinding machines to site and mechanically removed the sealer across the 1,350 m² preparation area. The work prepared the concrete surface for the specified tennis-court surfacing system.

The photographs record the slab, grinding equipment and extraction equipment during the preparation work.

Preparation completed in 12 working hours

Our sealer-removal and mechanical-preparation scope was completed in 12 hours of working time. Filip reported that the builder was pleased with the efficient completion and clear communication.

These project details and the builder’s feedback were supplied by owner-operator Filip Plesko. The 12-hour figure relates to this preparation scope. Equipment selection, availability and programme are assessed separately for each enquiry.

What follows concrete preparation for a tennis court?

The actual surfacing system nominated for this project has not been confirmed. Our work covered preparation for the specified tennis-court surfacing system; Resin Me Epoxy did not install the finished court surface on this project.

Questions when arranging concrete preparation

Can you provide preparation without installing the new surface?

Yes. We can assess a preparation-only package covering the agreed removal and mechanical preparation. The following trade retains responsibility for its nominated surfacing system, substrate acceptance and installation. For this Parramatta project, our scope was concrete sealer removal and mechanical surface preparation.

What access and power information do you need?

Send the equipment access route, gate or doorway dimensions, level changes, loading arrangements, available site power and permitted working hours. Our fleet includes independent power options, but the equipment and power arrangement must be assessed for each site. These are general planning requirements, not confirmed arrangements for this project.

How is dust controlled?

We provide dust-controlled grinding using extraction equipment selected for the work. Our published fleet includes H-Class dust extractors. The method and site controls are assessed for the scope and conditions; dust-free work is not promised.

What is included in a preparation package?

The quote defines the removal area, mechanical preparation, edge work and agreed treatment of waste, repairs, cleaning and handover. These items need to be confirmed for the particular project. High-spot grinding removes raised concrete; filling low areas or other levelling work is a separate scope to assess.

What belongs to the following surfacing contractor?

The following contractor confirms the nominated system’s requirements, assesses the prepared substrate for that system and carries out the agreed surfacing installation. This case study records Resin Me Epoxy’s sealer-removal and mechanical-preparation scope.

What information is needed to assess a quote?

Provide the site location, approximate area, clear floor photos, existing coating or adhesive information, required finish or surfacing specification, access, available power, edge requirements, waste arrangements and programme. Pricing and timing depend on the slab condition and agreed scope.

Need concrete sealer removal or commercial floor preparation?

Send Filip your site location, approximate area, photos, required finish and programme so we can assess the preparation scope.
