Service Overview
Stencil Concrete Removal in Sydney
Resin Me Epoxy mechanically removes stencil concrete finishes, decorative coatings and textured surface layers from driveways and other accessible concrete areas across Greater Sydney. The work is undertaken where the existing finish is worn, damaged or unsuitable for the repair, resurfacing or flooring system planned for the slab.
Stencil finishes can contain a combination of coloured topping, textured material, sealers and repeated repair or recoat layers. Their thickness and bond can vary across the same area. We inspect the visible surface, edges, cracks, falls, drainage, access and the intended next finish before confirming the removal method and written scope.
Commercial grinding equipment and suitable diamond tooling are used to reduce the decorative layer in controlled stages. Smaller grinders are used around accessible edges and details that the main machine cannot reach. Tooling and the number of passes are selected from the actual finish and the amount of material that must be removed.
Removal can reveal stencil outlines, aggregate exposure, colour variation, old repairs, cracks and differences in the underlying concrete. A perfectly uniform or level slab cannot be guaranteed. Further repair, levelling or preparation may be needed after the decorative layer has been removed and the concrete can be fully inspected.

Our Stencil Removal Process
01 — Inspect the Finish and Concrete Area
We assess visible coating layers, surface texture, cracking, edges, slopes, drainage points, access and the finish planned after removal.
02 — Confirm Tooling and Achievable Result
A test grind may be used to assess the layer thickness, bond and removal rate. This helps define the equipment, passes and likely appearance of the exposed slab.
03 — Controlled Mechanical Removal
The stencil or decorative layer is reduced progressively with suitable grinding equipment. The surface is checked throughout the work so the agreed material is removed without unnecessary cutting into the concrete.
04 — Edges and Detailed Areas
Accessible perimeters, garage thresholds, walls and other restricted sections are treated with smaller equipment where they are included in the quotation.
05 — Clean and Review the Exposed Slab
The area is vacuumed and reviewed after removal. Any newly exposed cracks, repairs or sections requiring further preparation are discussed before the next surface system is installed.
Planning the Next Finish
The correct handover condition depends on what comes next. A slab being repaired, resurfaced or coated may require a different profile from concrete intended for another compatible finish. We can coordinate the removal scope with the builder, flooring contractor or product requirements supplied for the project.
